General Advice: Nothing is unlimited. Of course many webhosts still claim that they can offer unlimited disk space or bandwith, but this is not very realistic. Why is that not realistic? Well, web traffic is expensive and if you get a lot of visitors (10,000+/day) you will need a REAL server. If you are just starting out you can expect to have only a couple visitors per day!

Webhosts can sell you 200GB disk space and more for that cheap because they "oversell". That means some people will use more and some will use less space. Theoretically if all customers would use the disk space and bandwith the hosting companies promise the servers would go down very quickly. You can compare it with a bank, because a bank will probably not be able to pay out all customers at the same time.

On this site we list so called "Shared Webhosting Providers". It's called "Shared", because usually there will be many customers on 1 server. You share the server with others. Everything you do will affect others on the server. That's why you have to keep in mind that the webhost has to set certain limits. One of those limits is the "CPU and memory usage". If a script like Wordpress requires too much memory your site will be shutdown shortly.
